Well that was mental!
I honestly feel a little shell shocked, I've just had the craziest, busiest and most wonderful 3 months of my life and I can't quite believe I survived it. It feels like quite an achievement and I can't wait to look back on it over Christmas and catch my breath but the real stars of the show are you lovely people. Your support has meant the world to me and I cannot thank you enough.
Every time i've felt overwhelmed or too tired to carry on, or too painful to keep knitting I've popped onto Facebook or Instagram and seen your amazing comments or I've loaded up my spreadsheet of orders and remembered that this really isn't about me, it's about the amazing people who have chosen my products to be part of their Christmas. Whether it's the stocking they hang, the santa sack that they'll get out year upon year, the Santa Hat that will sit on the top of their tree or the huge blanket sitting under it, i've had the honour of being part of it and that's worth a hundred sleepless nights of knitting.
It completely blows my mind that someone would choose something I make to be part of this special time and I'm so grateful to each of you for ordering, commenting and reading. I may be a little weathered (and gross) but I'm the happiest girl you ever did see and in the most part, I've done it with a smile on my face dancing and singing along to Christmas songs...apart from that one night I celebrated with a gin and tonic and still can't remember the following 3 hours.
I thought i'd put together a little summary of the last 3 months to see what i've been banging on about, so here's my festive season in figures -
21 Countries shipped to
832 orders out the door, (600 in November and December alone)
1013 individual products made (960 of those in November and December alone)
383 Santa Hat's knitted (Tree Toppers and people sized combined)
160 people ready to knit their own blankets
4 Knitters (Me, Emma, Helen & Deb)
5 Studio Helpers (Sally, Helen, Alex, Harry dog & my lovely mum who drove 2 hours to help with my accounts)
A tonne of wool used...no literally I used over 1 tonne of wool, 1017kg to be precise.
2 meals cooked by me (both were burnt and 1 was also undercooked on the inside)
1 rather special wedding <3
Zero Thank You and Christmas Cards Written (....Sorry to all my friends!)
and now i'm after 1 massage, 2 bottles of wine, 3 buckets of chicken and 4 days of sleep ;)
So now it's over, how can I ever thank you enough? You're my total favourites and I'm so grateful.
I also really want to thank my amazing helpers, Alex, Sally, Helen, Emma, Helen, Deb and my Mum Alison for their amazing dedication to the chunky knit cause, they've beared with me when I literally couldn't string a sentence together and they've knit and packed like the bloody wind. I refer to myself as a one girl band but that's really not an accurate representation anymore. Thanks to the dream team for keeping me on track and putting up with my baffled brain.
Wishing you all a Magical Christmas and a Happy New Year if we don't speak sooner,
I adore you all...now someone please pass the wine!
