Black Friday Sale
How has your week been? Mine has been wonderfully frantic although I must admit Black Friday snuck up on me (I thought it was next Friday as it just seems TOO SOON to be the last Friday of November already!) Lucky I've been slowly preparing throughout the year so it was just a matter of pulling it all together, and this is my annual 'here's the deal' post so you know what time to set your alarms!
Behind the scenes update
This time last year I wrote "It's currently total and utter MADNESS... I have a running total of around 90 orders" this year it's the same but that running total is now of around 300 orders. If you have a pending order, thank you for bearing with me. My (and my knitters') needles are going hell for leather to try and get everything out ASAP and currently all orders should still be with you in time for Christmas. I just wanted to quickly reassure you that any current orders will not be impacted (delivery wise) by Black Friday. Everything is going out as soon as it's ready and these will just slot in to the spreadsheet (I know that you know that I'm not joking about the spreadsheet...you know?)
Small Businesses and Black Friday
I know that lots of small businesses are boycotting BF this year and I totally get and respect that. It is not feasible for us wee ones to slash prices left right and centre. Generally we price our products with a feasible margin and unlike a lot of the larger stores who can buy everything in super bulk for pennies and increase price tags to allow for a huge sale, we tend to just stay consistent and price accordingly and as fairly as possible, all year round....also, if you've made something yourself its highly unlikely that you'll say 'this is genius, I'll charge a fortune and make loads of money' it's generally more 'but who would pay more than £5 for something I've made?' (hence every year I underestimate the santa hats and get in a right mess! Cue October 2016 and me saying "I've made 10 because who will actually buy them?" we sold 300 hahahaha!)
Me and Black Friday
Anyway, I'm lucky enough to have some quieter weeks during the summer when chunky knits aren't at the forefront of everyones minds and I take advantage of these weeks by knitting blankets I want to, purely for fun. I then store them and borrow them occasionally for photographs (as you can see). These are my Black Friday blankets. You won't find any of the usual suspects in here because I just want to make them for the joy of it so generally they're fabulous colourful beauties! Because I've made them for fun and borrowed them for a few photos I'm not looking to make any money or even cover my time, I just need to cover the cost of the wool so this year - Which is why I'm able to take part in this way. It's also a bit of a fun way to say, 'thanks for your support - if you cover the costs, I'll sort the rest'.
The bits you need to know
So here's the bits you really need to know (see how I made you wait to the end?! wasn't that mean!)
- The Black Friday sale will launch on Friday 24th November 2017 at 7.30am GMT
- It will be exclusively on my website, I ship Free within the UK, and internationally (charging the cost of the shipping) to Europe, USA and Canada.
- Everything in the Black Friday sale is 40% off.
- There will be a selection of blankets, a few cushions and one footstool for good measure. (There won't be any Christmas items)
- I'll send everything out within a week, so you can cosy up ready for December.
Set your alarms!
Most of the blankets are a one off, not a stock line...(there've been some hints in this post and on social media lately)...so when it's gone it's gone. - You could of course order the same combination via the normal channels but in terms of the deals, they're unique. So the plan is on Friday morning at 7.30am I will set all the listings live and let you know on Facebook and Instagram that they're up (in case you forget) but you can always set a reminder and just head over to the shop at 7.30am. Last year they sold out within an hour so if you think you want something please do arrive on time. I'd hate for you to be disappointed!
My lips are sealed
I couldn't possibly say anymore as it would ruin any surprises but I'm super excited to see which ones you like and who goes for what. I hope you enjoy it!
Thank you so much for your support this year (I'm sure there's another gushy Christmas blog to follow soon so I'll save up for that) but please know, I'm so grateful for your continued support whether it be in the form of a happy email, friendly comment or even an order. You're so good to me!
