How to Knit

It's probably about time I did a How To Knit post isn't it?

Today's will just be the basics so - cast on, knit stitch and cast off - but with just these basics means you can knit as many square or rectangular items as you fancy so you'll be whipping up scarfs like there's no tomorrow... speaking of which, now is a great time to start knitting a Christmas scarf, they make wonderful thoughtful gifts and knitting is so therapeutic so it's a win win.

I'm using my chunky needles that I use to knit cushions with, in the hopes that you can see what I'm doing a little clearer but you can use any size needles you fancy. Personally I recommend starting with around 8mm needles as they're nice and big so you can see your stitches and what you're doing without being so big that it feels clumsy.

So without further ado, lets get knitting!

If I was the kinda gal that liked to set homework I'd set you all the task of knitting a garter stitch scarf by Christmas and sending me your pictures for a special mention ....but I don't want to be a task master so you done HAVE to. Anyone who does gets a gold scarf though.

Happy Knitting Wednesday friends!
