Hello Pals!
How are you my friends? Ithought I’d drop in with some exciting news this week!….
We’ve been wanting to host a Knitting Club evening for a while and we’ve finally managed to pop a date in the diary so can now invite you along. YAY!!!
Tickets are available on our website and I thought I’d quickly whizz through some FAQ’s that might be helpful in case you’re curious or if you’re maybe a bit of an anxious Annie like me. This is the kind of thing I’d LOVE to do but if I wasn’t organising it, I’d be a touch nervous to come along so I’ve tried to answer all the questions I’d have. If you are that way inclined please know we’ll take care of you! I hope these Q&A’s are useful, if you have any more queries don’t hesitate to get in touch….
Can I come alone?
Yes absolutely! Everyone is more than welcome to join us, we’re determined to make it a nurturing and friendly environment so whether you come with friends or by yourself you won’t be alone.
I don’t know how to knit, I’d like to learn
No problem! We’ve got beginner kits that you can choose from and purchase on the evening and we will be there to help and support you. What better place to learn how to knit!?
I don’t knit but I crochet
All types of yarn projects are welcome. We won’t be able to offer support with other techniques as knitting really is our jam, however, you’re more than welcome to come and get crafty in a lovely creative, friendly environment.
I don’t have a project on the go, can I buy stuff when I get there?
Yes absolutely, we will have payment facilities in the studio for the evening should you wish to stock up. You’ll be able to see all our yarns and materials up close and personal and knitting club attendees will have access to our limited edition collections too! We know it’s always nice to see the colours in person so this will be a great excuse!
How do I find you?
Our address is Lauren Aston Designs, The Old Ticket Office, Holman Way, Exeter, EX3 0EN – sometimes sat navs can take you past us, to the other end of the road, we are AT the train station (by the level crossing) so if in doubt just head to the train station!
Since we’re based at the train station that really is the easiest way of getting to us, Topsham Station is on the Exeter to Exmouth line. The 57 Bus comes to Topsham (hop off at The Nelson) and the T bus drops you Directly outside out door (although isn’t as frequent). There’s also parking available in Topsham (Check the car park details but they should be free after 6pm) Topsham is a beautiful town to have a wonder around and a bite to eat so well worth a visit.
Where can I park?
There’s parking on the street outside our studio as well as a few car parks in Topsham, Holman Way carpark is the other end of our road and about a 4 minute walk.
What do I need to bring?
Just bring yourself and any knitting (or other yarny) projects. We do have plenty of materials and tools available should you want to purchase any but you don’t need to be making a LAD project to join us. Our goal is to bring our lovely LAD community together at this odd time and there are no rules about what you need to make.
What will be included?
We’ll be spending two hours together in the lovely LAD studio, surrounded by like minded people, all sharing their love for craft and community. There will be nibbles and soft drinks included and we’re also offering a free pattern of your choice from our extensive range of LAD designs.
What can I expect?
We have capacity to invite 10 of you lovely crafty babes into our Devon Studio. Our space is small but absolutely packed full of yarn, with a large table in the centre which we normally use as a space for packing your orders. On the night we’ll be welcoming you in and getting comfy around the table, enjoying some drinks and snacks, knitting and nattering. We’ll be around to meet and support everyone as you arrive and throughout the evening, we’ll be there to help you choose a pattern to take home and hopefully just having some gorgeous chats with likeminded folks.
I can’t make the date, will there be others?
We hope so! If you’re signed up to our mailing list, you’ll be the first to know. Essentially, If this one goes well we’d love to host more.
I live far away, will there be a virtual one?
Let us know if you’d be interested in some virtual Knits and Giggles evenings. It’s not something we have planned at the moment (mainly because Lauren’s so scared to do anything live on the internet) but if there’s demand then we’re always happy to accommodate.
I really hope you can make it! You can book tickets here, and we so look forward to seeing you there babes <3
Take care,
