Open Studio Days!

Lauren Aston
19 June 2019

Hello Pals!

I’m so excited for this weeks blog, I’ve been bursting to tell you what we have planned…

Save the dates 2nd and 3rd August 2019 because LAD HQ is open for visitors! 2 days where you can come visit, shop and knit to your hearts content here in Devon. I really hope you can make it as i’d love to see you and show you the new studio (you might even get to touch the leopard print wall :p …although let’s face it, as the only room with a door that’s probably where I’ll dump all the clutter and hide it away (like Monicas closet).

Save The Dates

So in case you forgot already it’s Friday 2nd and/or Saturday 3rd August that you’re blocking out in your diary to ‘VISIT LAUREN ASTON DESIGNS’.

What’s the plan?

So, we’ll be there from 10am-4pm both days knitting and chatting, we’ll have a spread of refreshments available for all (like I’d invite you round and not offer snacks!) We’ll be running 2 workshops a day (more on that below) and welcoming everyone in for a nose round, any shopping they fancy, plenty of chats and if there’s time some – more knitting. We organised it in the Summer holidays on a weekday and weekend so that hopefully as many of you can make it as possible. Children are or course welcome and I’ll have some designated yarn and needles out for anyone who wants to give knitting a bash.

I’m working on the decorations and refreshments (Priorities and all that) we’re going to tidy the studio and make it look gorgeous for you (note to self: don’t forget to order 1456x biodegradable balloons and make 392075x pompoms) Speaking of which if anyone wants to sponsor us with: gin, tonic, soft drinks, snacks or biodegradable balloons please do get in touch. *facepalm*

Arm Knitting Workshops

I’m so excited to be doing some Arm Knitting workshops, I don’t do many so we’ve scheduled in 2 each day to try and open it up to as many people as possible however we’re starting with really small groups of just 4 people to keep it intimate and friendly and give everyone a lot of attention – Not that you’ll need much as Arm Knitting is honestly super easy to get the hang of. You don’t need any prior knitting experience and all you need to bring is yourself. Ideally if you could book your space before 22nd July then you can choose any colour you fancy (any bookings after that will have a limited selection of colours based on what we have in stock at the time)

I’m hoping we’ll all have a blast, enjoy some yummy refreshments and make a lovely lap blanket…

For more information, times, prices and to book your place, here’s the listing…

Shopping at LAD HQ

We’ll have all the usual knit kits, yarns, patterns and tools available plus lots of ready made products, some limited edition colours, cushions and other treats. We’ll have a (for want of a classier name…) a Bargain Bucket (sadly not filled with fried chicken) and a number of one-off products. You can pay on the day with cash or card (I’ve just ordered a fancy new contactless card machine for the occasion and everything)

Finding Us

Since we’re based at the train station that really is the easiest way of getting to us, Topsham Station is on the Exeter to Exmouth line. The 57 Bus comes to Topsham (hop off at The Nelson) and the T bus drops you Directly outside out door (although isn’t as frequent). There’s also parking available in Topsham (free spaces if you can find them as well as carparks around the town) Topsham is a beautiful town to have a wonder around and a spot of lunch so well worth a visit.

Hope to see you there!

I think that’s all the information I have for now, If I’ve missed anything let me know, otherwise I’ll be here ordering Gin by the gallon.

Gosh I SERIOUSLY hope you can make it, if you’re not based in Devon then fingers crossed that’s a good weekend for you to have a holiday…I recently went camping and highly recommend it!

Anyway, bye for now, speak sooooon!

Take Care,

L x
