Our 6 favourite Summer knits

Hey Gang!

Knitting definitely isn’t just for winter! We have loads of lovely knits that are summer ready. A new fave is our ‘It’s all beachy’ Cotton Dress. Perfect for the beach, it can be slipped over a bikini or as a comfy summer dress. It’s fairly easy to put together as there is very little sewing up. You can choose from 29 gorgeous colours and you can choose whether you fancy it oversized or a bit smaller. Chloe has styled it with a waist belt which is giving us some seriously chic, laid-back vibes.

For those cooler summer evenings wrap up with the ‘More is More’ Merimoh Blanket. We can imagine taking this beauty with us camping or down to the beach for a little extra comfort. Combining our love of Super Chunky Merino & the Mini Mohair (Merimoh) this pattern is super simple meaning it is perfect for absolute beginners but is also really enjoyable to knit up for more experienced knitters too. Add some optional tassels on one of more sides if you’re fancy showing off a bit!

Got a wedding or bbq coming up? Have a go at the Yasss Queen Bunting for the garden. Maybe switch up some of the colours depending on your theme? The Union Jack pattern makes this knit suitable for the more advanced knitters among us. You can make the bunting as long or short as you like, with alternating colour work flags. Crochet a chain to easily thread them all together. They look incredible hung from the trees for a garden celebration.

Gather your beach gear in the Big Cotton ‘The Loop Bag’ which is suitable for knitters who’d like a little bit of a challenge. This bag is a fun take on the popular string shopper bags, but finished with loop handles instead to create a loose handbag style. You’ve got a choice of two handle finishes; a light wood effect or a rich amber* finish. We’re quite enjoying the darker colours on this one!

Get ready for summer festival season with the Big Cotton ‘The Bucket Hat’ it’s giving us serious chic-gardener vibes mixed with 90’s playfulness. It’s soft, breathable and comfortable – exactly how summer hats should be. The pattern has two sizes – one for smaller, or ‘pea-sized heads’ as Lauren likes to describe herself (!) and one for slightly larger heads. Both sizes have a good amount of stretch to them, so be sure to measure your own head to get the size best for you. You can knit this bucket hat up in a matter of hours!

And finally, a long term favourite the Mini Mohair ‘Frill Seeker’ Camisole. Always a beauty, it’s a knit designed for intermediate knitters in mind. We’ve gone cropped in this photo but you can choose the length you’d like it to be. We just love the flounce and that you can pop it over a tee for the summer. Team it with a bralette for a more fancy evening outfit!

We hope that’s got you inspired for some summer knitting! Enjoy the sunshine.
