Make yourself and your friends as many glorious chunky knit crowns as you like and get rid of the paper cracker crowns this year. These knitted crowns are fit for a queen, are soft and comfy and are basically just super flippin’ Fancy!

This kit is perfect for beginners and more experienced knitters alike. The kit has enough yarn to make one crown, but you can add on extra yarn if you’d like to make more for your family and friends. Make one, or ten and make them in your favourite colours – go for all ‘gold’ (mustard) or choose a different colour for each member of the family.

With simple to follow instructions and everything you need in the kit, you can get knitting straight away – or you can give it as a gift (we pride ourselves on our gift-ready packaging) Using just knit stitch and some basic shaping these crowns can be created in about half an hour. Knit them for children (or small heads like mine) grown-ups or pets – all the details are included in the instructions.

Yarn

All our kits come in a 100% natural cotton, ethically sourced LAD bag stuffed to the brim with;

  • 50g Super Chunky Merino Yarn by Lauren Aston Designs
  • Full instructions and pattern
  • (optional) 10mm short knitting needles
  • (optional) Tapestry Needle

We source our yarn from happy sheep. Due to its many magical properties and the fact that Lauren is allergic to a lot of other wool, we only use Merino.

Merino sheep are not native to this country so the wool itself is provided from farms around the world, however we are very careful where we do source our fibre from. Our Merino is from South America and the South African Cape and we don’t buy from farms that mules their sheep.

The best quality wool comes from happy sheep.  If a sheep has a poor diet and general poor health its fleece will suffer. Both the quality of life for the sheep and the quality of wool it produces are hugely important to us. We have strong relationships with our suppliers to ensure that we can trust them and their practices. Merinos shearers are all trained well to do it as efficiently and kindly as possible and the sheep are a lot happier once their 5kg fleeces are off!

You can now choose to have your yarn in a hank or a ball!

Our Great Balls of Yarn are beautifully wound so you can start knitting straight away. Instead of spending your valuable time winding them yourself when you could be starting on your latest project, or having the worry of tangling up while you’re knitting, these balls are expertly and beautifully wound by us, for you.

Each hank/ball is around 200g (and 130m) and is best knit on 10mm-15mm needles.

If you choose to stick with hanks of yarn, most of our customers find it easier to wind them before knitting. Snip the ties holding the hank together and you’ll find the end of the yarn. Pop it over the back of a chair, a door handle or your knees and wind into a ball, before starting your knitting.
