Hey gang!
The countdown to the long bank holiday weekend is officially on. So what better way to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee than with a tea party (of course). To help you prep we have gathered some of our favourite foodie bits/outfits and of course knitted additions for the perfect party fit for, well a queen!
If we’re celebrating our Queen, crowns all round are a must! The Chunky Knitted Crown Pattern is suitable for a beginner and can be made for all head sizes (adult & child). Made from super soft 100% merino wool they are comfy to wear and look absolutely glorious on mass. Pick your colour but we recommend the mustard yarn – as close as we can get to gold. If you don’t really fancy knitted loads of crowns we also sell the gold version pre-made.
No tea party is complete without scones. So after the inevitable jam/cream argument, we’re going to focus on this delicious Boozy Strawberry and Pimm’s Jam Recipe. This recipe is SO simple, thankfully so you can whip up some fabulous jam without it taking days! Could even sneak into a victoria sponge cake too maybe?! Yum.
We’re looking to independent fashion/lifestyle brand Lorna Ruby for our fancy tea party wear. We can’t get enough of her gorgeous dresses and floaty summer tops. We also hear that she’s having a summer sale in the lead up to the big weekend (yay) so go on, have a browse.
Next up, how amazing are the Honeywell Bakes letterbox Corgi Celebration Biscuits! The perfect edible addition to any tea party, particularly a royal one. They are so sweet they are almost too good looking to eat. Check out the rest of Honeywell’s biscuit offering too because they are all totally fabulous!
We have a brand new fabulous Yasss Queen Bunting Knit Kit, which cleverly features the Union Jack. Designed for us by our fabulous Sally this pattern is suitable for the more advanced knitter. So if that is you definitely impress your friends with this one! The kit is also a special edition as it features one of our secret shop colours, the sapphire.
We hope you have enjoyed our little round of our party prep tips and whatever you end up doing over the Jubilee weekend, have a good one!
Don’t forget to tag us in any photos if you attempt some of our knits for your celebrations. We love seeing them!
