Diagonal Stitch Hot Water Bottle Cover
Using a combination of stitches and colours, you can create an adorable hot water bottle cover – just perfect for snuggling down during the colder nights (and days!)
Suitable for intermediate level knitters, this project uses a mix of Knit and Purl to create both moss stitch and garter stitch to add interest and extra softness. Choose two complementing colours and knit yourself or a pal a lovely chunky cover, perfect for keeping you cosy.
The kit contains everything you need to get going and comes gift ready in one of our ethical LAD bags. Add 12mm needles if you’ve not got them in your collection and a hot water bottle too. Because you can make this up in a matter of hours it is perfect for your afternoon snooze or if you can part with it – give as gifts to a loved one!
The ribbed neck is stretchy enough to get the hot water bottle in and out, please note the warnings below when using hot water bottles.

Hot Water Bottle Safety
Directions of use: Do not use boiling water when filling the hot water bottle. Fill to maximum 2/3 capacity. Hold the bottle by the neck in an upright position and fill slowly to avoid hot water splashing back. Expel air from the bottle by lowering it carefully onto a flat surface until water appears at the opening. Screw the stopper sufficiently tight to ensure that there is no leakage. Finger tight should be adequate.
Warning: Do not fill using water from the domestic water system as this can considerably shorten the life of the bottle. When not in use, drain completely and keep, with the stopper removed, in a cool, dry and dark place. Check the hot water bottle and stopper for wear and damage at regular intervals. Prevent contact with hot surfaces. Prevent contact with oil or grease. Prevent exposure to sunlight. Do not lie or sit on the hot water bottle. Retain these instructions for future reference.

We source our Merino yarn from happy sheep.
Merino sheep are not native to this country so the wool itself is provided from farms around the world, however, we are very careful where we do source our fibre from. Our Merino is from South America and the South African Cape and we don’t buy from farms that mules their sheep.
The best quality of wool comes from happy sheep. If a sheep has a poor diet and general poor health its fleece will suffer. Both the quality of life for the sheep and the quality of wool it produces are hugely important to us. We have strong relationships with our suppliers to ensure that we can trust them and their practices. Merino shearers are all trained well to do it as efficiently and kindly as possible and the sheep are a lot happier once their 5kg fleeces are off!
